PRE-TREATMENT

At Botres, we understand that the key to successful biogas production starts with effective pre-treatment of the substrate. That’s why we prioritise maximising the separation of organic waste from contaminants, reducing impurities in the substrate to improve the fermentation process and enhance digestate quality.

Our Bio Scraper

To recover the organic fraction from waste, we integrate our in-house proprietary pre-treatment machinery into the process. Our Bio Scraper is specifically designed for handling the organic fraction of municipal waste or packaged food waste. It efficiently separates the organic material from inorganic contaminants, ensuring cleaner input for the biogas process.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

High quality substrate for AD

The result of our customized pre-treatment is a clean organic suspension, which is processed in the anaerobic digestion plant. The biogas produced is captured and converted into renewable energy sources such as green electricity, biomethane, or Bio-LNG.

In addition to its high separation efficiency for various organic fractions, our Bio Scraper ensures that reject materials like plastics and metals remain undamaged and dry, allowing for optimal reuse.

To remove grit and sand, we employ our grit polisher system, which eliminates these contaminants from the substrate.
