Biomethane - Botres

GENERATING BIOGAS IN A SUSTAINABLE WAY

BIOMETHANE

Biogas is a flexible energy source that can be upgraded to biomethane, a renewable source of gas. This emerging process presents an attractive alternative to combined heat and power (CHP) systems.

What is biomethane?

Biomethane, also known as Renewable Natural Gas (RNG), is a purified, pipeline-quality gas comparable to natural gas. While it shares many characteristics with fossil fuels, biomethane significantly reduces the carbon footprint, is clean, and a sustainable alternative. It can be injected into the natural gas grid, compressed into compressed natural gas (CNG) for use as vehicle fuel, or liquefied into liquefied natural gas (LNG) for the transportation sector, including maritime transport.

There are various biogas upgrading technologies available, each with unique characteristics. The selection of the most suitable method depends on the specific requirements of the project. With our extensive expertise, we choose the optimal technology to meet our customers’ needs, ensuring maximum biomethane yield.
